I have heard, seen and read a lot about Glamglow of late and not being one to miss out on a trend I naturally got involved in the hype. Well truth be told I received a miniature in a beauty collection I brought sometime ago and started with that first.
Glamglow was founded some 8 years ago now and used exclusively for backstage and professional use in Hollywood’s Entertainment, Music, Fashion & Award industries, becoming available for retail in 2011. So OK I am a little behind the times but it did take a while to work it’s way over to these shores.
SuperMud is an award winning clearing treatment designed for all skin types. It is said to give you ‘Super Clear Super Poreless-looking Skin’. I have now been using it for over 2 months now and here is how I got on.
It certainly looks like a mud or clay and has the texture of it. The instructions say to apply a thin layer over your face and leave for 5 – 20 minutes. Use as a small mask or spot treatment. Now being a bit stingy I had always used a thin layer but all over. The instructions do say to expect a tingling feeling as normal. I had no issue with this when applying the thin layer. The mask hardens making your face a little stiff, not uncommon in face masks. I found it easy to wash off with warm water and didn’t linger or stain my sink – given it’s colour I was a little apprehensive. I tend to use it about once a week.
If I am honest I don’t always see the benefit of face masks and think they can be as much about enjoyment as results. This particular one however is a huge exception. To say I have noticed a difference in my skin would be an understatement. I am not really prone to breakouts, save for about once a month (you know what I mean) but I do get quite a lot of blocked pores. In fact I didn’t realise just how many until I started using this. My skin is unbelievably clear now and as such it really allows me to create a dewy poreless look with my make up. I can honestly say I don’t think I have had such visibly clear pores and skin before. I love it. What is more is my monthly break out episodes have dramatically reduced in that I get about one or two spots during this time now. I will say this though, after first using do expect to get a few spots, I think this is just the treatment clearing out your skin. With continued use this doesn’t happen.
I rated this product that much that I recently brought a full sized tub for myself and Mr Tammy, who also likes to use it (yes really) and have religiously stuck with my application of once a week, which isn’t something I always do if I don’t find a product to be particularly good or working for me.
I would without doubt recommend this product to anyone, whether you are prone to breakouts or not.
When I branched out and applied a thicker layer (considerably) the tingling was less tingly more burn. It was quite unpleasant so being a bit concerned of my sensitive skin I washed it off to find a bit of redness, which did go down pretty quickly. Mr Tammy has never had this problem and it could just be a result of my particularly sensitive skin. Nonetheless I will be sticking to a thin layer in future.
