With Christmas coming up this really is the perfect time to buy gift sets. More often than not they represent really great value and you get a selection of products to sample. Growing up I used to think they were a bit of a cop out present now however I am all in favour of the gift set. Probably because, as I said you get so many products to play with and being a beauty and skincare junkie it is right up my street.
Us ladies are not alone in this, male grooming is big business these days multi billion dollar big in fact, according to the independent. Eye creams, lotions and potions are no longer seen as ‘womens products’ as men worldwide are following suit, and why the hell not? Woman have advocated this for years and look at the results. There surely is no reason this should be a female only practice.
Mr Tammy is no exception. In fact he has long advocated a skin care regime, way before I met him. I know not all men feel comfortable talking about or buying their own skincare products, why I don’t know but it is what it is. Some simply don’t know where to start. So I have put together a list of some amazing skincare products, most of which are typically designed for the male audience. Why painting a bottle blue or grey makes a difference I am not sure. Yet it does. So if you’re in the market for a self care product for the Mr this Christmas, if you are a Mr and don’t know what you’re looking for or are too embarrassed to purchase it yourself, have a look at these for some ideas. Alternatively you may be hot on your products, or your Mr is and is in the market for some new products.
1. Clinique For Men Essentials Kit
Clinique offer this range for both normal and oily skin and it include a 50ml face scrub, 50ml face wash, 40ml moisturiser, and 15ml anti ageing moisturiser. It is a great starter pack and really excellent value for money, at just £30.00. Mr T has had this and several other clinique products in the past and has always advocated them.
2. Kielh’s Men’s Gift Set
There is one product Mr T swears by. He is normally a bit of a product whore but there is one brand he remains loyal to and that is Kiehl’s. He’s not alone in this Kiehls Facial Fuel Energising Scrub is one of their bestsellers and was voted the top male skin care product by vogue in 2016. This normally retails at £17.50 for 100ml but you can buy a miniature together with 75ml Facial Energising Moisture Treatment, 75ml Facial Fuel wash and 30ml Utimate Strength Hand Salve for just £30.60.
3. Lab Series High Performance Duo
Another tried and tested brand by Mr Tammy. Lab Series specialise in skincare products for men only. Lab series has been specialising in male only products for 30 years now and believe that they truly understand the difference between male and female skin. This set includes a multi action 100ml Facewash and PRO LS All-In-One Face Treatment 100ml. It is a good everyday skincare option, with minimal effort required but maximum results.
4. L’oreal Men Expert Active Sport Gift Set
L’oreal have a very well known and well advertised men’s range. They were pretty quick to the men skincare race and came in all guns blazing. Not to mention the incredibly affordable price that makes them an excellent choice for those stocking fillers. It therefore also lends itself perfectly to a great starter product if you’re not overly sure where to begin. L’oreal Paris offer loads of male gift sets but I have gone for the Active Sport Set as it is well timed going into the new year and gym membership takes up again. With this you get a Hydra Energetic moisturiser, a mini towel and high performance anti-perspirant all of which are the perfect size to fit into your gym bag. Retailing at £9.99 it is a no brainier.
Well actually they’ve been back a while now but it seems everyone, every man at least is sporting a beard these days. A full on beard that is. Designer stubble is a thing of the past, it’s all about the big beard. So to help you maintain that bushy beard Mo Bro’s have this 8 piece set including, moustache wax, beard oil, beard balm, grooming scissors, beard comb, travel bag and gift tin. Mo Bro’s was founded by three bearded brothers and claim to offer high quality yet affordable products for all your bearding needs.
6. Neal’s Yard Men’s Everyday Collection
Another strong performer on the Vogue top skin care for men chart and one for those environmentally and origin conscious amongst you. The gift set contains Rejuvenating Moisturiser 50g, Purifying Face Wash 100ml, Invigorating Body Wash 100ml and an Organic Cotton Wash Bag. All packaging is responsibly sourced and the products themselves are one of the few male targets ranges that is certified organic, suitable for vegans and cruelty-free. This retails at £35.00.
So there you have it a quick guide to some of the best male grooming gift sets on the market this Christmas. Are you a man who is into your skincare or is it all another language to you? Is your Mr always sneaking some of your product or are you trying ever hard to convince him to give it a go? Do you have any top products you would recommend? I’d love to hear from you.
