Christmas. There I said it, it’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas. As a self proclaimed scrooge this is not my favourite time of year and actually, it hasn’t felt at all Christmassy to me yet. I can’t quite believe it is only three weeks away! That said preparations are underfoot. The tree is up, presents (well some) have been brought, and planning is starting to happen. We may be debating getting a sneaky last minute break in to really throw us out of kilter but hey ho… I am sure I’ll still be able to get all the Christmas malarkey ready… I hope. SO anyway here is our festive week in photos…
Christmas and winter, not really my bag. However hands down the best thing about Christmas, mulled wine, right? I have a new post about how to make the perfect mulled wine and it is delicious. There's also a link to an amazing giveaway that @jet2pics are hosting, you could win an actual holiday. A little something to get you through the winter like. Link in bio peeps.
So the original intention behind this photo was to show off my daughter's new top and make some precious comment about girls being superheroes too. Then this happened. Sometimes they are each other's superhero 💛. How's that for a precious comment?! In other news Facebook has reminded me it's December tomorrow and I have brought a sodding elf to put on a shelf, we totally don't have any shelves and I have no actual idea what the whole elf thing is about. Off to spend some time with google. Are you doing this elf malarky? And if so HELP? What do I actually tell my children about it?? My children who are two and three and won't understand what the hell is going on that on. #whyevenbother #yeartooearly
So this happened today. We left the house looking like this. They spent all day in these outfits in and out of the house. We were going to a frozen party so it half made sense. That said the boy kicked off because he didn't have a pretty dress to wear so I dug out one of his Christmas presents and he spent the day as Chase. It was a good 3 sizes too big for him and he was roasting all day but he was happy so whatever makes you smile innit.
So today was tree day. I was kind of dreading it. Also because we were spending most of it in the house. But actually I parented the sh*t out of life today. We did the tree together, we baked a gingerbread house, decorated it, it looks (and tastes) god awful but they enjoyed and the kitchen remains in one piece. Plus an assortment of other indoor activities that has left me chalking today up as a #win. I'm rewarding myself with a chow mien and an early night cause mum flu is still raging and Mr T is on the town. #livingthedream
'Tis the the season and all that…. Current status; officially p*ssed off 😒. I had a humungo bed to myself last night, with the promise of an early night, a full restful sleep and a potential lie in. None of those things happened. Obviously. I saw most hours, mum flu is still alive and well (unlike myself) and we were up at the crack of dawn. Just two toddlers negotiate through the day. Two toddlers who have all the toys in the world yet insist on asking 'what we doing now?' Who hang off my ankles waiting for me to magic up a dose of fun and are only capable of talking in that whiny mcwhiny voice that toddlers do best. Happy Sunday y'all 🤗 #servesmeright after my braggy mum post yesterday about Christmas tree success story. 🙄🤦♀️
