Hello there and welcome to the latest instalment of my series #MeetTheFamily. It is a spin off from our linky #FamilyFun. You may know that #FamilyFun is a linky where you can link up any blog post with the idea of it being a fun linky where you share your posts, comments and love with your blogging family. This post is all about getting to know our blogging family a bit better. So without further ado I will introduce you to this weeks member:
I am a big fan of Emma’s and her blog, having been following it now for some time. The fact writing is her trade is undoubtedly clear through her blog. I am in awe of the fact she managed to write a book with a little one tow, big respect to you Emma. I also love the way in which her book came about, somewhat selfless I believe. I wish you nothing but success with your book lovey. Anyway thank you Emma for taking part and if you get chance as always please do pop over and show Emma some love.
1. Tell us a little bit about yourself, who you are, your blog and what we can expect from your blog?
My name is Emma, I am a Mum to one little boy who is now 3 and wife to my husband Rob. My blog came about because I wrote a book on baby teething to try and help other parents. My son went through a tough time with this development and I couldn’t find anything that had all the information in one place. I decided to write one myself which is available to buy on Amazon. The blog started off as a way of increasing the visibility of the book but it has gone much further than I ever expected and I love to write about parenting, DIY, gardening, books, health, fitness and what is happening in our little world.
2. When your not blogging, how do you fill your time – are you a working parent, SAHP, WAHP? When your not working what do you like to do for fun?
My son is now at pre-school 12 hours a week which has nicely coincided with me starting freelance writing work. Prior to this, I chose to leave my full-time job at a school to be a stay at home Mum. We love getting out and about and Jake is a very active lad who needs a lot of stimulation!
3. How long have you been blogging and what is your favourite and least favourite thing about it?
I have been blogging for just over a year. I love being able to have a voice and helping others who may be going through the same thing with their child/children. The hardest part is keeping on top of the social media which goes along with it.
4. If you could pass on a piece of advice to a newbie blogger what would it be?
Be prepared to work hard. I have heard of so many people commenting that they want to blog for the ‘freebies’ but it is so much more than that. You have to have dedication and a passion for it all. I would also recommend being true to yourself and not to compare yourself to others. If you write in your own style you will be successful in your own way.
5. If money were no issue, and you could tick one thing off your bucket list what would it be and why?
Oh, definitely a trip to Africa and go on safari. I have always wanted to go out there and would love to be able to volunteer at one of the animal orphanages.
6. Can you share some love and tell us what blogs you are enjoying at the moment and that you would recommend?
My favourite blogs are Living with a Jude, Accidental Hipster Mum, Honest Mum, Hurrah for Gin and of course Tammy Mum
