Finally! After what has felt like a long and gruelling winter we are knocking on the door of spring. Rather I am kicking it down, with gusto. The clocks have moved forward, mother’s day has been, the daffs are out and Easter is around the corner, spring is well and truly here.
I love spring, lighter nights, warmer days (usually), flowers and the promise of summer. What I am not so keen on, when it comes to this fair season, is footwear. I could quite happily go from Ugg boots to flip-flops with no in-between. Finding the right footwear is such a challenge for me. Flimsy pumps annoy me, I struggle to find trainers that fit and don’t scream middle age or wannabe teen and I am too young for a proper ‘shoe’ whatever that is. Yet I do so much walking with the buggy I need a decent pair of comfortable, yet stylish spring shoes.
Mr Tammy heard my plight and for mother’s day brought me a pair of shoes, kind of. He gave me the cash alternative, because as he put it he ‘daren’t choose shoes for my flippers’. Fair enough, if I struggle I don’t expect anyone else to manage it.
So I have put together a few of the in season spring shoes I have my eye on;
First and foremost; Converse
I have been eyeing up a pair of converse for a while now. Let’s face it they are everywhere. Everyone seems to have a pair, at any age, and they go with everything. They look fab with a pair of skinny ankle cut jeans, they can be worn with skirts, dresses, trousers, you name it they work. Not to mention they just fit perfectly with new warmer brighter season. My only reservation, when trying some one Mr Tammy said ‘you’re not buying them are you?’ Cheers then. Apparently they look good on everyone but me. I mean a size 7 shoes isn’t really that big is it?
Whilst I am on trainers I love the look of these Lost Ink PEACE trainers. They are so different and unique and would also look fab with a pair of ankle cut skinny jeans. Granted you would have to choose your socks wisely but they are a very cool shoe.
I confess I have never owned a pair of loafers, having always been a bit on the fence about them. That said I have seen so many people styling a good loafer I think it is time I considered joining the pack. I absolutely love these Hudson Clara suede Loafers. The colour is a nice change from the standard black and again, they would pair well with a good pair of jeans, smart skirt or day dress. They could be worn to the office or out and about on your Saturday afternoon. They are a multi purpose shoe that would top many an outfit.
Finally I am in love with these Orange Karen Millen Ghille Ballet Pumps. I love the colour (although they are also available in black), they would brighten up and outfit and would look absolutely stunning with a pair of white skinnies. I love the gold heal too, which lends your outfit to some brilliant accessorizing. As I said, I am not normally a pump kind of person, but for the right pair, I would certainly make the exception and I can’t think of a pair more perfect and spring like than these.
So what do you think? Do you have a pair of spring shoes that you love? Or are you, like me, struggling to say good bye to your trusts boots? I would love to hear from you.
