Hello there and welcome to the latest instalment of my series #MeetTheFamily. It is a spin off from our linky #FamilyFun. You may know that #FamilyFun is a linky where you can link up any blog post with the idea of it being a fun linky where you share your posts, comments and love with your blogging family. This post is all about getting to know our blogging family a bit better. So without further ado I will introduce you to this weeks member:
I am a big fan of Jenny and her blog and have been following it for some time now. I feel we both have a bit of a penchant for make up and beauty. Jenny does however knock spots of my make up and hair style skills. She also can create some amazing knitwear and crochet – I wouldn’t even know where to begin, she really does have a talent for it. So as ever, Jenny thank you so much for taking part it is a pleasure to have you and if you have 5 guys please do pop over and show jenny some love.
1. Tell us a little bit about yourself, who you are, your blog and what we can expect from your blog?
I’m really bad at making myself sound interesting, but I’ll give it a go! I’m Jenny, I’m 30 (cry) and I created Accidental Hipster Mum. I’ve got two lovely kids and I’m in the middle of a degree course at my local uni. I’m incredibly busy but seem to forget that and keep picking up new hobbies like knitting and crochet!
2. When your not blogging, how do you fill your time – are you a working parent, SAHP, WAHP? When your not working what do you like to do for fun?
I’m technically a SAHM but I make a casual income off my blog and I’m busy studenting too. Luckily all of my lectures are crammed into two days and my maintenance loan covers what a part-time job would, so I don’t have to go out to work alongside everything else.
3. How long have you been blogging and what is your favourite and least favourite thing about it?
I’ve been blogging properly for almost a year and a half. I’ve been writing terrible moody-teenager blogs since I was about 15 though. Thankfully they have been deleted off the face of the earth so I don’t have to suffer the mega-cringe of anyone reading about how much I love Placebo or some other shameful thing!
4. If you could pass on a piece of advice to a newbie blogger what would it be?
I would say, “Honestly don’t feel bad, no one will read your blog for at least three months. It’s not your blog’s fault, no one knows it’s there!”
5. If money were no issue, and you could tick one thing off your bucket list what would it be and why?
I don’t really have a bucket list, is that a bit boring of me? I’ve never been to a proper gig or a proper holiday. Maybe I’d go to America to watch Why? play and then eat a huge burger? That sounds quite nice actually.
6. Can you share some love and tell us what blogs you are enjoying at the moment and that you would recommend?
Oh, well Tammymum, of course!!
I’m guilty of being a Twitter drifter, I follow so many bloggers on there, I’ll read a shared post with an interesting title then not take notice of who wrote it.
The ones I come back to when I’ve got a bit of spare reading time are The Moderate Mum (moderatemum.co.uk), Not an Effing Fairytale (notaneffingfairytaleblog.com), Whinge Whinge Wine (whingewhingewine.co.uk) and quite a few more. I keep meaning to have a recommended reading page on my blog to give my faves credit.
