Hello there and welcome to the latest instalment of my series #MeetTheFamily. It is a spin off from our linky #FamilyFun. You may know that #FamilyFun is a linky where you can link up any blog post with the idea of it being a fun linky where you share your posts, comments and love with your blogging family. This post is all about getting to know our blogging family a bit better. So without further ado I will introduce you to this weeks member:

I was first introduced to Jaki’s blog some time back now and I haven’t stayed away since. Her posts always interest me and I can often relate to their content. She runs a brilliant family and lifestyle blog and can often touch on some very real experiences and emotions, that can strike a cord with the reader. So as always, if you have it, please do spare some time to check out her blog and share a little love.

  1.  Tell us a little bit about yourself, who you are, your blog and what we can expect from your blog?
My name is Jaki and I am Mumma to one four year old ‘Little Man’. My blog is jakijellz.com and it’s a Lifestyle and Family blog. I love to write emotive pieces when the mood or circumstance strikes me – I feel this is my best writing. But I like to keep it light hearted too with Places To Go posts, reviews, tags, the usual type of blog posts we’ve all come to know and love. I also currently have a Guest Blogger Series running on my blog where other bloggers are invited to come along and have some of their work appear on my little corner of the internet. I also have a weekly quote series called Wednesday Wisdom. A quote that usually fits alongside my current mood or circumstances.Jaki Jellz
  2. When you’re not blogging, how do you fill your time – are you a working parent, SAHP, WAHP? When you’re not working what do you like to do for fun?
Being Mum to a four year old fills most of my time, but when I’m not playing with cars or PlayDoh I am at work. I work part time, which for me is every morning until 1pm, Monday to Friday. I work for a Family Law Firm and handle their Social Media. It’s a role I’ve recently taken over and I love it. I’m so lucky that I get to use the skills I’ve learnt from blogging to now do a job I get paid for. I’m incredibly lucky. As for when I’m not working, I love going to gigs and concerts. I love my music with a passion and there’s nothing I love more than seeing my favourite band and artists live. In the evenings, I love nothing better than snuggling up in bed with my latest Netflix series of choice. Currently Gossip Girl (I know I’m a few years late but I was busy having a baby and missed out on the fuss at the time!).
  3. How long have you been blogging and what is your favourite and least favourite thing about it?
My blog was born almost four years ago, but it doesn’t exist in the same form it did then. It’s had name changes galore and last year when I bought the domain, I made the move to self hosted. So really, in the sense you see it today – it’s just shy of one year old. I love creating the content. I love working hard on something and seeing it there and when you start to receive praise for a piece it’s a great feeling. I love also how it’s helped me find my talent. And that of course, it’s given me the day job that I do. I dislike the time it can take up. Sometimes I’m up until the early hours working through a To Do list like a mad woman and then I see the time and curse myself.
  4. If you could pass on a piece of advice to a newbie blogger what would it be?
Don’t go into it thinking you are going to earn a mint. Because you won’t! If you do it for that reason alone, it’s totally the wrong reason. You have to love to write, otherwise what is the point? You should do it for yourself. Because you want to. Blogging is a slowwwww process and nothing happens overnight. Research. Talk to other bloggers – we love to help!
  5. If money were no issue, and you could tick one thing off your bucket list what would it be and why?
I would be booking a flight to New York! It’s the one place I’ve always dreamed of going. One day!!
  6. 6. Can you share some love and tell us what blogs you are enjoying at the moment and that you would recommend.
I love Absolutely Prabulous. I love The Brunette Says. I love Motherhood: The Real Deal and I love Bridie By The Sea. I always try to check in with these lovelies every week.
