Hello there and welcome to the latest instalment of my series #MeetTheFamily. It is a spin off from our linky #FamilyFun. You may know that #FamilyFun is a linky where you can link up any blog post with the idea of it being a fun linky where you share your posts, comments and love with your blogging family. This post is all about getting to know our blogging family a bit better. So without further ado I will introduce you to this weeks member:
Mummy in a Tutu is the brain child of the truly amazing Katie. Words cannot express the gratitude I have toward this lovely lady, she has been a major part in my blogging journey so far and I owe her so much. I first met Katie when she wrote a tongue and cheek post Wanted: Blogger seeks personal tribe. We got talking together with a few other lovely ladies and what started off as a few bloggers chatting about blogging has turned into a whole Tribe with over 100 members. Katie has become more than a fellow blogger and is now a friend to me. She write a popular, emotive and gripping blog that I urge you to check out. So Katie over to you…
- Tell us a little bit about yourself, who you are, your blog and what we can expect from your blog?
Okay, my name is Katie and I write the Parenting, Lifestyle and Food Blog, “Mummy in a Tutu” as well as play the role of mummy to my gorgeous little bubba, Alyssa. My blog talks about anything and everything I experience from heartbreak to milestone moments in my life as a mum and as just me. There are also a few reviews thrown in for good measure and I also run two linkies – #ablogginggoodtime on a Thursday and #FoodieFriday on a Sunday… just joking it is what it says on the tin and on a Friday.
- When your not blogging, how do you fill your time – are you a working parent, SAHP, WAHP? When your not working what do you like to do for fun?
I am a WAHM and blogging is my career – I am very fortunate and this has only happened in the last few months. In my downtime (ha ha ha every mummy ever just laughed then) I enjoy having a coffee with friends or watching a good series like GBBO or I am a little addicted to the TV channel TLC and enjoy the mostly American shenanigans on there!
- How long have you been blogging and what is your favourite and least favourite thing about it?
I have been blogging for 10 months now and my favourite thing about it has to be the comments I receive – to know that I am not alone and someone else is going through or has gone through the same thing but also to know that I am helping other people too. The worst thing is also the comments but a different type – no matter who you are you will never please everyone and there will always be trolls!
- If you could pass on a piece of advice to a newbie blogger what would it be?
Decide what your blog is for and then stick to that for a while – if it is for you then make it for you and don’t go chasing stats. If it is as an option to turn it into a professional piece then go hard or go home because there are hundreds of thousands of blogs out there!
- If money were no issue, and you could tick one thing off your bucket list what would it be and why?
It would be to go and spend a few weeks in America in varying places – I am desperate to visit New York and LA . It is just one of those things I so desperately want to do – if money was really no object id probably end up moving there… I like to coupon!
- Can you share some love and tell us what blogs you are enjoying at the moment and that you would recommend?
Okay, blogs I absolutely adore (apart from Two Tiny Hands and TammyMum Obviously) have to be Adventures with J – I love seeing what J has been up to and like the heartfelt way in which Laura writes.
Babies, Biscuits and Booze – this blog is so down to earth and more often than not has such a funny charm to it.
Diary of An Imperfect Mum – Catie is my blogging bestie and I adore her blog. It pulls at every heart string I have and I think she is a gorgeous writer.
Finally, The Parenting Jungle – some of the things this lady shares are so brave and I can almost hear a cry for help or affection coming from beneath her posts at time that make me want to keep returning to let her know someone is listening.
