This hashtag post was first shared on my weekly linky #FamilyFun by Sarah from whose blog can be found at The Mumzilla. Sarah has teamed up with Emma from Island Living 365, who has recently suffered a heartbreaking loss to this horrible disease. She has written a post about this loss that, along with the post from The Mumzilla has inspired me to write this post.

I am sure you don’t need me to tell you of the devastating effect that cancer has. I don’t think I need to give you statistics and stories as we all no doubt have our own story to tell. A story where this disease has come into our lives, taken over and tried its best to conquer. I hope and pray your story has a happy ending but I know all to well that there are many stories that don’t. Cancer is still very much a life taker and life changer.

With this in mind, you may have heard by now that Emma and Sarah have decided to have their own virtual coffee morning, in the hope of raising support and money for Macmillan and Bart’s Charity, which work toward curing and caring for those suffering with cancer. They have decided to take action and try to do something to fight cancer. I applaud them.

The blogging world is huge and its impact should not be underestimated. There is after all a reason that companies are willing to pay so many bloggers for their time and words. Sarah and Emma make a valid point, what if bloggers dedicated their time, and perhaps a little money to these to charities and this cause. Could we have such an impact to bring more attention to the work that goes into trying to combat this deadly disease.

I would like to think we can. I would like to think that if enough bloggers take part we will be using our voice for something more, something good, really good.

This virtual coffee morning is set to take place at 10.30am on the 30th September 2016. If you can and have time to spare, it would be great if you could spread the word and dedicate 10, 15 or even 5 minutes of your time, to sit and chat to others, in person or online, using the hashtag #bloggersbeatingcancer .Please grab the badge below to show your support – you can grab the code here, or simply use the photo above. Whats more, if you can please share some pennies to these great causes, causes that want to cure and care.

Please donate to or share the following fundraising page – https://mydonate.bt.com/fundraisers/bloggersbeatingcancer

For my part I am out of the country this day, but I have every intention to drop in and help get #bloggersbeatingcancer trending and raise my coffee to all those who have been effected by cancer. I hope to see you there.

My mom is a cancer survivor. We were very fortunate to have caught it when we did. She is in remission and has been for two years. Thankful for her every single day.

What a great idea. I’m currently writing a piece for the dad network about losing my 2 year old cousin to Neuroblastoma, so I know that cancer can and does devastate all age groups. I’ll certainly promote this event.
